6th Grade Project
Abstract |
The 6th grade Social Studies class will participate in the “Surplus Project”. The production of surplus and the lack of it is an issue frequently broadcast by different types of media. In this project students will apply their learning about the origin of surplus as well as consider possible uses for surplus items. The idea is for students to create an action plan for how to handle surplus in their daily lives. Students will be asked to make an inventory of their own personal surplus (toys, books, clothing they have outgrown, etc.) Each sixth grade social studies class will then work together to develop an action plan for the use of this surplus in a way that will ensure that those who suffer a scarcity of this specific product will benefit. |
