Escola Americana do Rio de Janeiro encourages applications from students who are prepared for a competitive, high quality, pre-collegiate education for grades pre-K to 12th grade. Because the number of students seeking admission to EARJ can exceed the number of spaces available, enrollment limits have been established to insure the integrity of the academic programs and the quality of each student’s school experience. Consequently, admission is competitive and families are encouraged to initiate the admission process as soon as possible. EARJ has a rolling admission process. Each school division (Lower School, Middle School, Upper School) has an Admissions Committee consisting of the Principal, Counselor, and the Director of Admissions. When appropriate the School Psychologist, Learning Specialist, and/or ESL Coordinator are consulted for input regarding an admission decision. Committees meet regularly throughout the year to review applications for the spaces available in the coming semester. Candidates are encouraged to complete the application process at least six week before the date of entrance. |
