These tournaments are held at “Nosso Recando 2” – www.nr.com.br, a nice ranch around Campos do Jordão. The students stay at the camp and it is a three-day competition. Parents are welcome to go and watch the games. There are “pousadas” or hotels nearby in which parents can stay. Contact the school if you would like to travel with us. The Little 8 tournaments occur twice a year, usually in November and May. The Little 6 is a Soccer Tournament among six schools and takes place in November. During the first semester the Little 8 teams include Cheerleading performance, and girls’ and boys’ Basketball. During the second semester the Little 8 teams include both boys’ Futsal and girls’ Volleyball as well as Cheerleading performance. MIDDLE SCHOOL ATHLETICS PHILOSOPHY The philosophy of Middle School Athletics is to provide students the opportunity to learn from, to participate in, and to experience team sports. Scrimmage games provide the opportunity for all members of the team to play. · Coaches will motivate all students to better their skills and to participate on the team. · The coaches and Athletic Director will work to allow as many students to participate in a sport as is feasible. · Determination of the traveling team for the Little 6 and Little 8 will be determined at the last possible moment – when the organizing school asks for the final list of players. · Coaches and teachers will work together to ensure that student athletes perform well in the classroom and on the playing field. · Practice takes place two afternoons per week per sport.
