My name is Christina Welton. The best part of teaching is interacting with children. I have a degree in Sociology with emphasis on Culture and Elementary School Education from Christopher Newport University, Newport News, Virginia, where I lived for almost 10 years. I concluded my masters in Education from Framingham State College. Later on I pursued a pos graduate degree in Teaching Portuguese for Foreigners at PUC.
I am delighted to welcome all foreign students, this semester, who will be learning the native language, culture, music and the main historical dates. Through experiential activities such as: puppet shows,games, plays, learning centers, field trips, songs, projects and presentations, cooking and tasting different foods children will be excited to learn Portuguese in an easy and more pleasurable way, providing a faster and more efficient adaptation to Brazilian Culture.

Experiential Education in Practice
The program is based on new directions of teaching a foreign language, in which we concentrate on the students’ reality and their most important individual needs. It is a program which promotes integration across disciplines. It facilitates learning through art, theatre, music, literature and technology. As students experience the constant challenges and successes during the activities, they become motivated to learn more and to feel comfortable and confident to communicate in a new language.
The program has been designed for children between six and eleven years of age and has been implemented at EARJ for the past three years with excellent and positive results.

* consciência das palavras
* rimas
* aliteração
* consciência de sílabas
* consciência e identidade fonêmica
* análise de fonemas, etc.

E agora? O que será que acontece com Ari? Ouça a história para saber.
