On November 23, NASA Astronaut Chris Cassidy, honored EARJ students with a visit. During this unforgettable time, Mr. Cassidy shared his outer space experience, as well as his commitment and preparation prior to going into outer space. An important message on positivity and commitment was delivered by Mr. Cassidy. Lower and Middle School students had a privileged Q&A session where interesting and surprising questions were asked (and answered). We would like to thank Mr. Cassidy and his brother, Mr. Jeff Cassidy, for making this experience possible and for spreading positivity at EARJ.
The Barra and Gávea Campuses hosted yet another beautiful opportunity for parents and children to connect and share a Thanksgiving Lunch with their loved ones. In collaboration with Barra's and Gávea's respective PTAs, families had the opportunity of placing a symbolic feather with things and people they are thankful for and attaching them to our EARJ Turkey. All feather sales benefit the Worker's Appreciation Day and the Cantinho Feliz Daycare center, situated in Vargem Grande, in a gesture of solidarity and appreciation. We are thankful for our wonderful Community! Thank you!
EARJ's daily activities are infused with technology. In the future a myriad of professional activities will increasingly require a sophisticated understanding of how technology works. The next generation will move from simply being consumers of technology to being creators utilizing technology. Students will use code to produce services and communicate in ways we have not even considered. This is why our entire school is joining the largest learning event in history, The Hour of Code. Our Hour of Code is making a statement that EARJ is preparing to bring programming activities to our students.
