Choosing EARJ

For 86 years, EARJ has thrived on being recognized as a leading international school in academics, extracurricular and character development. Considered the most international school in Rio de Janeiro, EARJ is proud of the diverse community that supports and empowers its mission and promotes intercultural relationships, allowing students to flourish academically, emotionally and ethically.
As an American International school, EARJ follows the Northern Hemisphere calendar. The school year starts in July and ends in June of the following year with a 5 week vacation break from mid December to February and from mid June to July.
When to Apply?
EARJ considers applications with a maximum of one year in advance.
International applicants are welcome to apply year-round.
We, from the Admissions Offices in Barra and Gávea, look forward to meeting you and your family and taking the time to talk about EARJ’s academic program, activities, athletic programs and more. This is also a great opportunity to visit the school facilities, discuss your expectations for your child’s education, and clarify any questions you might have.
